De boom die wordt
O Find a suitable tree
and off you go. Listen to a snip at: http://www.muziekweb.nl/Link/LAX1298 The children make a long line holding hands. The
end child holds onto a tree |
The
tree is getting thicker and thicker. The
tree is getting thicker and thicker. The
tree is getting thinner and thinner. The
tree is getting thinner and thinner. |
With the last child in line leading the others
the children walk round the tree until there is a thick tangle of children.
Repeat the song until the last child can walk no further. The last child then walks backwards to undo the
knot until every child is unwound. |

into the sky!
Shimbleshanks that little gnome, Kept
wobbling back and forwards. On the
mushroom big and fat, Red

very loud: ‘Is
that mushroom broken? Stop

Roodborstje tikt
aan het raam O A simple action song
for when the weather grows cold. Maybe this song doesn’t
point the way to how birds might be helped sensibly to survive winter.
Discuss ways that would be more practical; make a bird food ball to hang up
outside. There are many recipes online. Watch a different version at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kZ6Wq5R2ib8 where the bird is fed with crumbs. |
Roodborstje tikt aan het raam tin, tin, tin, Laat mij erin, laat mij erin. ‘t Is hier wat koud en te
guur naar mijn zin, Laat mij erin, laat mij erin. Robin
he tapped on the window tin, tin, Let me
come in, let me come in. Out
here it’s cold and I’ll freeze in the wind, Let me
come in, let me come in. 't Meisje deed open,
The
window was opened and robin let in, Much
better there in the warm till the spring. But
when the weather grew fine, tin, tin, tin, Off to
the woods robin flew. |
Open and close finger and thumb. Draw window. Tap
x3.Hand shows ‘come in’. Shiver with hands to arms. Draw a window and open it. Shake finger. Put hands to cheek. Draw the sun. Wriggle fingers. Cross hands to make wings and fly them high and
away. |
Toemba, toemba, toemba, toemba O The Indians in the wood will not harm anyone with
their bananas but look out for those snapping crocodiles. Watch at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1fR7IVFybJ4 or http://vimeo.com/3910211 Listen at: http://www.amazon.com/Toemba/dp/B004DF5GS4 Stand in
a circle. Verse 1
Walk four steps into the circle and four steps out. Repeat. Wave
arms in the air like trees and walk round on the spot. Stand
and mime eating, sleeping and using a bow and arrow. Hold
hands and skip round first in one direction and then in the other. Verse
2. Use the same movements as before except for the two lines from ‘Eten niet...’: Shake
the forefinger on one hand then the other. Open and close arms like a
crocodile mouth. |
Toemba, toemba, toemba, toemba, toemba, toemba, toemba! x2 In het bos, in het bos, Wonen indianen.
Indians are living. Eten daar en slapen daar, En
schieten met bananen! Tra la la
la la, tra la la la la, tra la la la la, x2 Toemba, toemba,
toemba, toemba toemba, toemba, toemba! x2 In the
woods, in the woods, Little
men alarm us. Eating
there and sleeping there and shooting with bananas!
toemba, toemba toemba, toemba, toemba! x2 In the
woods, in the woods, Crocodiles
with smiles hide. They don’t
eat and they don’t drink, But
they will bite your backside! Tra la la la la, tra la la la la, tra la la la la, x2

Zeg roodkapje O I have added an extra verse to make this song
easy to sing in English. Choose a wolf, a grandmother and a Little Red
Riding Hood. Dress up with appropriate props: basket biscuits
etc. to create more excitement. Watch at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5864GTHsBHs Verse 1
Children hold hands in a circle and walk round. LRRH walks round the outside
holding a basket. Verse 2
Children drop hands and wag finger as LRRH walks in and out of the circle.
Children then wave hands above head as branches. Verse
3. Children continue moving like trees as LRRH stops and shows cakes from her
basket. Verse
4. Children crawl on hands and knees inside the circle as LRRH moves
among them looking fearful. Verse
5. Children return to circle and shake finger from side to side thencup hands round mouth to shout’Shoo!’ Verse
6. The circle holds hands and tries to prevent the wolf from entering. Wolf
waiting on the outside tries to get in the closed circle to catch LRRH before
she escapes outside to grandmother’s house. |
Zeg roodkapje waar ga je heen, Zo alleen,
zo alleen. Zeg
Roodkapje waar ga je heen, Zo alleen. Little Red Riding Hood went walking, So alone, so alone. Little Red Riding Hood went walking, So alone. Tell us where do you think you’re going, Through the woods, through the woods, Tell us where do you think you’re going, Through the woods. Ik ga bij
grootmoeder koekjes brengen, In het
bos, in het bos In het
bos. To dear grandma with cakes and biscuits, In the woods, in the woods.... In het bos
wonen de wilde dieren, In het
bos, in het bos. In het bos
wonen de wilde dieren, In het
bos. You’ll find wild creatures in the forest, Yes it’s true, yes it’s true..... Ben niet
bang voor de wilde dieren, Ben niet
bang, ben niet bang. Ben niet
bang voor de wilde dieren, Ben niet
bang. Do not let those wild beasts scare you, Just say ‘Shoo!’, just say ‘Shoo!’.... Pas maar op
daar komt de wolf, Pas maar
op, pas maar op. Pas maar
op daar komt de wolf, Pas maar
op. But watch out or old wolf will catch you, Take great care, take great care But watch out or old wolf will catch you, Please take care.
